Rabeeh Abbasi is working as a tenured professor and head of department at the Department of Computer Science, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He completed his PhD from the Institute of Web Science and Technologies (WeST) University of Koblenz-Landau, Germany. He has a vast research experience in the fields of social media analytics, network science, and data science. His research focuses on leveraging positive aspects of social media including social media’s use in saving lives, understanding events, and analyzing sentiments among many others. As a supervisor, his main goal is establishing a research culture, where researchers are motivated to address research problems associated with real-life. As a teacher, his focus is on developing the interest of students in the courses they study, equipping them with the latest tools, technologies, and concepts, and helping them in becoming a progressive part of the community.
